Do refurbished laptops from Gateway qualify for the free windows 7 upgrade?

I am about to order a refurbished Gateway MD7321U laptop. I checked on Gateway's website and it said that the MD73 models are eligible, but I am not sure if being refurbished takes away eligibility. Gateway's FAQ page does not mention anything about it either. Does anyone know?

  1. Hmm, I am pretty sure it does. Call Gateway support.
  2. I think Microsoft goes by a certain date. I think it's anytime after June 28th, 2009. If you bought a laptop on or after that, you should be eligible.
