Are Dell Factory Outlet Laptops Refurbished?

I've found plenty of deals on the dell factory outlet website, but i need to know whether the laptops there are refurbished, as im not willing to pay £350 for a refurbished laptop (the website states that they have been returned due to change in demand/over production etc). What is the general waiting time for delivery? Thanks a lot!

  1. Yes most computers on that site are factory refurbished, which means is that they were used before, the person did not want it, so it got its outer casing replaced and all parts checked so it look and runs like new.
  2. You can find great deals on desktop and laptop Dell computers from Dell factory outlet website. These are certified refurbished computers. Not only you get great prices on refurbished laptops, desktops, but also all Dell Outlet PCs come with a 1-3 year limited warranty. (Same service that you would get with a new Dell computer) (I personally own Dell desktop computer from Dell outlet and it works great without any problems.)
  3. All the laptops at the Dell outlet fall into one of three categories: Certified Refurbished: The laptop was sold, or loaned, and returned. The laptop is then tested and repaired to bring it back to 100% new condition. They carry the same warranty as new. Previously Ordered New: These laptops where ordered and never shipped or where returned to Dell by the buyer. They have never been used. They carry the same warranty as new. Scratch & Dent: These laptops have a few dents or dings. Nothing to make them stop working. These also carry the same warranty as new laptops. I have bought thousands (for work) of Dell desktops and laptops new. Most work, some do not initially. I buy those new because I order 200 to 300 at a time and want them all to be the same. The build time is usually one to two weeks. For personal, one at a time, purchases I always buy and suggest my friends buy computers from the outlet. They are good as new, and have no build time since they are already built. And there is no change in warranty, so no risk. The laptop I am typing on right now is refurbished and was purchased for over $400 less than the same laptop new. The only advantage of buying new from Dell is that you get the specify the exact laptop you want. The outlet only has what is available and does not install upgrades. So some days the selection is better than other days.
